Nina, Granki, and Papa at the seal beach in La Jolla. There are lots of people around here who want to get rid of the seals here, but I love bringing Nina and she loves it too.

Larry's cousin Zoe Rice has a novel due out in June (check out the link to the left). It got a nod in the page 6 column of the New York Post!

We have evolved a wonderful sleepytime routine; I love it. First, bath with papa, then I get Nina out of the bath and take her into her room. As I'm drying her off, I ask if she wants a massage. If she does, she says "saaje" (or however you would spell massage if you left off the "ma" part). She didn't want to be massaged for about 6 months and all of a sudden she is enjoying it again. Then I get her into her jammies and Larry comes in. Sometimes they read a book and/or brush teeth, and then it's time to kiss all her dolls and stuffed animals goodnight and put them to bed (on the bookshelf). Larry came up with this and seriously, it's soooo cute! Kudos to Larry! Then it's time to kiss mama & papa, nurse for a few minutes, then into bed. When I put her blanket over her, she grabs a corner of it and pulls it forward and wraps it under her. Sweet dreams.

HAPPY 18 MONTH BIRTHDAY!! This last month was full of wonder and new discoveries...
Nina's first sentence is: Mama boob, please!
She loves to wrap up her dolls in any scrap of cloth that is lying around.
Nina's vocabulary has grown so much; it's impossible to keep count of how many words she knows now, but one of my favorites is...CHOCOLATE! Always said with at least one exclamation point.
Nina went for her 18 month well baby checkup today. She weighs 18 1/2 lbs and is 30 1/2 inches tall.
Here are some pics at swim class; the teachers there love Nina (of course!)
