resumption
The workouts have resumed. It's just my nordic track in the garage, but at least the weather has cooled enough to do that! I did 15 minutes today (short because I'm a little sore from the yoga I did yesterday).

What is wilson silverleaf? We're organitarians; it's best for our bodies and the planet. We cloth diapered Nina for the same reason. We drive a hybrid car & wish we could afford solar panels on our house. I'm a strong advocate for homebirth, full-time mom, & also a movie junkie. We don't have a tv though; we watch dvds on our computer. We love contradancing. I garden & knit; Larry's a puzzle lover & plays fantasy football.

Oh, and yesterday I didn't go to the gym, but I did walk about 6 miles doing errands.

I watched calories this time and was disappointed to see that I only burned 315 calories in an hour but I did take it kind of easy. It's definitely something to work towards and I'm still sweaty. I had it set to 4 miles per hour most of the time.

I used it on Wednesday and forgot to post about it; I went about 9 miles in about 50 minutes on resistance level 11. I didn't work out yesterday because it was Yom Kippur and at 3 (when I usually work out) we were at a tot service (much, much better for me than the adult one).
My friend says that she watches how many calories she has burned; I think I am going to try that. All the machines I use keep track of it. I suspect it will come out about the same as what I have been doing. It will certainly be easier to remember that one number than all the stuff I've been trying to remember between home and the gym.

The description from the manufacturer says it's an elliptical machine, but it doesn't have moveable arms so I'm going to call it a stair climber. I went for 47 minutes, 4400 strides, usually maintaining between 90 and 100 strides per minute, at 11 resistance. My heart rate was steady at around 160.

Today I did 27 minutes on the elliptical machine with a resistance level of 12. We got a late start and I just wasn't feeling it for a whole hour, though certainly that was my goal. My heart rate was about 160.

But Nina and I did get into the city today to the botanic garden and walked around wearing a lumbar pack with a 12 and 16 oz water bottle, each full, a camera, a book of maps, wallet, cel phone, sweater, jacket, and two hats. And then I put Nina on my back in the ergo and walked for a couple miles. All wearing my MBTs, which I think made it more strenuous.

It turns out that I have a workout conscience; Nina wants to watch videos so she asks me to go down to the gym pretty much every day. The result is that I have been working out a lot more than I might otherwise, which is great! So I'm going to try to remember to tell you what I did every day.
Today I used the recumbent cycle, at resistance level 8, for about an hour. I went about 11 miles and worked up a good sweat but my heart rate probably wasn't as high as it could have been.
