What is wilson silverleaf? We're organitarians; it's best for our bodies and the planet. We cloth diapered Nina for the same reason. We drive a hybrid car & wish we could afford solar panels on our house. I'm a strong advocate for homebirth, full-time mom, & also a movie junkie. We don't have a tv though; we watch dvds on our computer. We love contradancing. I garden & knit; Larry's a puzzle lover & plays fantasy football.

Big News!

Ok, so not in the grand scheme of things, but in our little house.
Nina slept all night in panties last night. A week and a half ago she asked if she could sleep in panties, so I told her we needed to get some extra sheets and mattress pads. They came in yesterday (being the geek that I am, I had to get organic cotton for each). So then we had a conversation about how it would work: I would open the door to her room and put a night light in the bathroom, and since we don't have any regular pajamas (footies only), she will sleep in panties until I can get some organic cotton ones. I didn't sleep very well, as I was always on the edge of sleep, listening. At about 5:30 am I heard her get up and go into the bathroom, so I got up to help her. Her bed was completely dry!!! I let her get into bed with us because I was pretty sure she wouldn't go back to sleep on her own, and we were both pretty excited. She didn't really sleep much (none of us is very good at co-bedding) but at one point she was spooning me with her leg hooked around my hip and onto my belly. It was priceless.

Yay!

Congratulations to Nina! That is big news indeed.

I didn't have a choice in the matter with Eliza giving up diapers at night - she kept taking it off every night, and we'd find her naked in the morning. Underneath her is the organic cotton bolster-and-pad thing that we used to use for co-sleeping way back when, but she's only ever had one nighttime accident - mostly it's there because I was paranoid about her rolling out of bed.

Awesome! We might have to try that.

That is great, we just made the switch ourselves and the first couple weeks we were about 50/50 and now we've had a week straight of dry nights. It is a good feeling and Athena is PROUD. She is pretty good about tiptoeing out and coming back quietly, but we had to work on that one. And she'd leave the light on in the bathroom. Most nights, she doesn't even get up though.

That is HUGE news! Congrats to Nina and her very proud mama!

We've backslid a bit around here and it's causing some stress for the tiny person. Fingers crossed it'll work itself out before Mexico.

Yay Nina! Houston has been sleeping in his big boy underwear successfully for a few months now and it is great stuff!
