What is wilson silverleaf? We're organitarians; it's best for our bodies and the planet. We cloth diapered Nina for the same reason. We drive a hybrid car & wish we could afford solar panels on our house. I'm a strong advocate for homebirth, full-time mom, & also a movie junkie. We don't have a tv though; we watch dvds on our computer. We love contradancing. I garden & knit; Larry's a puzzle lover & plays fantasy football.

Happy Chanukah!

You heard me right, we had a little early Chanukah in our house this weekend. For a while now I have been feeling inadequate because I don't play a lot of music. I remember that music was on a lot when I was growing up and I feel like it really helped me to love music. I thought a lot about why I haven't been listening to music much and all I could come up with was that it felt really inconvenient for some reason. There are cd's spread all over the house, by all of the little boomboxes I have and I can never seem to find the one I want, or then the cover to the one I am taking out of the boombox, you get the picture. The solution I came up with was to buy an mp3 player with big memory and just upload all the music to it and use a docking station with speakers. So when we went to Costco this weekend and they had the 80GB one for what seemed like a reasonable price, we decided to forgo Chanukah presents for each other and just buy it. I have been busily working on putting the music on it and am halfway through our collection (I have a lot of cd's from when I worked at Borders and got them free all the time). And I have been listening to music a lot!! Unfortunately, mine didn't come with Captain Jack Sparrow (I think that's false advertising, don't you?). Still a good investment, though. Anyone have a recommendation for a docking station that doesn't give them fuzzy ambient noise?

If you have a home stereo system, buy the cable and connect it. This way you can have excellent sound. We did that and have speakers throughout the house so we can dance while we cook, etc...

I have put a bose system on our wishlist, thanks!

We don't have a home stereo system, just boomboxes in different rooms in the house. I do have two nice speakers, though. I wonder if they could be hooked up or if I would need a receiver.

The Bose. Also, Tivoli makes great radios that can also accomodate ipods.
